Soon to be New Guitar ^_^

Just ordered a Fernandes Montery Deluxe in ivory white, it should be here in a week. I'm loving white guitars at the mo! I havent had a Les Paul style guitar in probably 6 years, haha it'll be a nice change.

Will put up pics once it arrives :D Next stop, a Revolver Deluxe and a Revolver 7 Baritone!

What advantage does the 18 volt conversion add? Looks like a fine piece of instument. Is Fernandes a Japanese domestic market only? Or do they export?

Looks like we swapped guitars, you sell your Prestige and buy a Monterey, I sell my Monterey and buy a Prestige. Crazy

It gives you more clean headroom (Actually, it gives you clean headroom.... ) sounds a lot clearer. The results aren't as drastic when using high gain however. You can run EMGs safeuly at up to 27volts but the difference between 18v and 27v is marginal. Not worth the effort.

Even more OT:I was going to try the 18v mod on a set of Duncan Blackouts I had but they 'don't need it' apparenlty and it doesn't work on them or something (could be BS... who knows...) either way I didn't bother. I ended up selling them and getting passives instead.

I originally ordered a white monterey originally but it got lost in the post! The second one they sent out was a black one 'cause I changed my mind :P

Depends on the shape of the guitar I reckon, white's/ivory looks sick on a monterey, but I wouldn't want a white rg

ha yeah I was going to get a black, but Fernandes were all out, there was a two month wait for the next build. I was planning on getting a Revolver as well in the opposite shape of whatever the Montery was going to be, so it works out quite well.

Ah I dunno man, White RG's look cool! Jona from Bring Me The Horizon has a Custom White Caparison TAT which is beautiful! And the custom Ibby RG's I've seen used by Unearth and Bleeding Through are sick!

Very nice guitar, played a couple over here and they are pretty fantastic.

As for the EMG 18V mod, yeah more headroom, more dynamics, more of an open, less compressed sound. Only drawback is for pure metal rhythm, the more compressed 9V sound can actually be better. Personal preference though.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Got my guitar today, less than a week after I did my order, I was very impressed with UPS!

So I open up the box and the case to lay my eyes on a....

Revelle Deluxe, in black!

After a few nasty swear words and Darth Vader'esque 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO' hands up in the air, I picked it up and had a play.

Turns out, it's pretty damn good! It's got a 'les paul' feel to it for sure, especially the neck. I've been using a Wizard II neck for quite a while, it's going to be a while till I get used to a fatter neck. It is comfy though, especially for my sausage fingers ^_^ and it's a great variation on the les paul body shape, I really like the look of it.

hahaha luckily this exact model was on my list of 'wants' from Fernandes anyway, so there's a silver lining in everything. I'll get the Montery and Revolver with the order I'll do in a few months.

Anywho, I'll try and get some pics up.
