NZNTR - Pick-a-Guard
Yes folks, it really is true!
New Zealand's Next Top Radian is back on the air and the latest rivetting episode looks at whether a pickguard is desirable and if so, what kind.
Here are some options:
1. Jazzmaster style pickguard
2. Telemaster pickguard with Tele control plate
3. No pickguard, rear routed controls (can't find a picture, possibly for good reason)

Dang that telemaster is hot!

Jazzmaster. Although it may be that beguiling red finish influencing this vote

Voted the JM
The Telemaster looks awesome, but churning out Telemasters is a bit like churning out someone else's take on a couple of classics rather than the radian take on a classic.
edit - it needs to be 3ply though!

Re: NZNTR - Pick-a-Guard
I made a Jazzmaster without a pickguard a little while ago and I reckon they definitely look better with one.
My vote goes to Telemaster to better match the hardtail bridge that you numbskulls voted for.

Re: NZNTR - Pick-a-Guard
Pickups will be an Ash P90 in the bridge position and a J90 in the neck position with a 4-way switch, volume and tone.
Just like the red one with no middle pickup.

Re: NZNTR - Pick-a-Guard
It's time to resurrect this series. The NZNTR JM is half built and lots of build vids are awaiting editing. I want to finish it before xmas, so let's ponder that next: http://www.nzguitars.com/forum/viewtopi ... =3&t=24373

Re: NZNTR - Pick-a-Guard
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: NZNTR - Pick-a-Guard
I was going to suggest a pickguard in that style. Not quite fond of the full Jazzmaster pickguard without the Jazzmaster pickups and assorted other hardware. I like the more retro style of the one pictured, but then I am partial to that kind of thing.
