Guitarists and the dangers of house painting
So I've been busy sanding and prepping the house over the last few weeks and have now worn the skin on my fingers so thin that blood has oozed out.
I now have no fingerprints and super smooth fingers, which is a right bastard for holding a pick. I literally can't play with a pick now without constantly dropping it.
Can anyone recommend a super sticky grippy pick that is available preferably from Guitarstuff?
I normally play with Dunlop red heavy gel picks

The petrucci jazz 3's have a grippy surface, but it's ribbed not sticky...

Quick! Go steal some stuff before they grow back.ElBaconi wrote: I now have no fingerprints and super smooth fingers
I've painted my last house. I've renovated my last house. After a succession of them (about thirteen addresses in ten years) I'm just buying new properties from now on and selling them when the bins are full.

Get metal picks ... for some strange reason I never drop them, use to always drop "normal" ones but not the steel. Should be nice and smooth on the wounds as well

Double sided tape on your existing picks....initially sticky, but after a min or two, just grippy.ElBaconi wrote:So I've been busy sanding and prepping the house over the last few weeks and have now worn the skin on my fingers so thin that blood has oozed out.

Use your fingernails! (I only use a pick for strumming.)

Bwahaha a life of crime to fund a disposable house lifestyle - I like it!
Never considered metal picks, maybe I should try the old Billy Gibbons peso stylez
Good suggestions, thanks guys. I'm playing sans pick at the mo', def prefer pick style. I'll give some of those Petrucci's a go and also try the double sided tape

Gorilla Snot or anything like it should do the trick.
Another alternative could be a thin latex glove on your right hand, or a sticking plaster on your first finger?
