Check out this sexy PRS John is using - Looks like an all Rosewood neck too!
He uses this streaming app called Periscope every so often - last night he was jamming away on a gold Custom 22 with a Maple Neck.

More fuel for the PRS haters
Is he an exclusive artist for PRS now?
I've always liked John's playing. Try! would be one of my favourite albums.

I rather like his SRV type licks. Don't know why it all went tits up with Fender.

Playing trainspotter, it looks like a Violin

With a Violin II style headstock.

But hey, he's John Mayer. It's probably whatever he damn well wanted.

Re: John Mayers PRS'
It's the PRS version of the Gibson Wrap-around bridge. It's staggered for intonation. They have been using that bridge for years.
Vernon Reid has one just like John's custom but with a floyd so I guess that means he has cut ties with Parker (and that expensive sig. model they made).

Re: John Mayers PRS'
what do all the switches do?
I can guess the 3 by the selector are splitters..
what about the 2 by the tone knobs

Re: John Mayers PRS'
I have never for the life of me figured out how people play guitars live with so many switches. Those mini switches are so hard to "hit" when playing at full flight (for me anyway) it just seems a complete load of arse

Why would you need to do it in full flight though? Surely just being able to get multiple tones out of one guitar across a set would be useful?willow13 wrote:I have never for the life of me figured out how people play guitars live with so many switches. Re: John Mayers PRS'
I have a P22 I just acquired, it has the piezo switch that's tiny.. It's hard to use full flight. Lol.
I have to use it in between chorus and verses etc when it's easier to change
