Single pickup rock machines
Got GAS for something with a single pickup like this:
What else have people owned or own? this was the only single pickup guitar I've owned, completely out of character from my current stable of vintage strat and tele, but back in my wannabe metal guitarist days it was absolute perfection for me...

???
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Single pickup rock machines
I had Ibanez lawsuit-era strat (big headstock) which I purchased from the music department at my school for $200 at the end of my school year in 1995. It has been hastily painted black over what I can only presume was a Lake Placid-blue OG paintjob, which ended up giving it a kind of navy/metallic grey look, though constantly flaking and worn. The 3 single coils had been replaced with an unidentified Dimario zebra humbucker which, when looking back, I suspect may have been a Super Distortion running off a single volume knob on a spraypainted black scratchplate.
Sounded pretty awesome through my DS1 and Fender Princeton Chorus at the time, and sort of cemented my playing style of single pickup, single volume which more or less continues to this day. It was damaged at a party gig I played in 1997 and I sold it to one of my bandmates in pieces as I'd bought my second guitar tutor's '79 strat a few months before for the then-seemingly-expensive price of $700 (!)...pretty sure he bolted a jackson neck to it and used it metal bands during the early 00's with that same awesome Dimarzio.
I had a BC Rich Gunslinger about 5 years ago, which was fun, aside from the trem, but also had one of Ash's first Radian SG Jr's, with a single custom-wound pickup made by Adrian. Only had it for a year, in which the band i was in broke up and I foolishly sold it it to Sty, who's still go it as far as I know... i'm keen to buy back
