Hollow and Semi-Hollow guitars thread
Was gassing hard for an ES335, but way too much money for me, but while looking about found this nugget from the past, Gibson fans might recognise this guy?!?!?!?!?

Is this allowed or too hollow? Thinking of electrifying it with a rhythm chief but the prices are a bit silly.

Were mine. Not now.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Recent. I bought it new a couple of years (3?)ago. And not only fancy, beautifully built too.

Re: Hollow and Semi-Hollow guitars thread
I've only owned a Sheraton II and a 1962 RI Sorrento (both gone) so not much experience re: semis and hollowbodies.
The current one in my stash. I bought this on a whim a couple of months back. Great guitar but might not stay long since I feel a great itch to buy another strat LOL.

Would love to have seen that at gearfest. I have never actually been in the presence of a real 335!

Re: Hollow and Semi-Hollow guitars thread
I was travelling light, sorry. Will bring it to the next one.
Love how alive they feel. Bit more to them than a Les Paul. Bigger-sounding IMHO. Bass is a bit boomy compared to a LP I reckon. I'd love to waste $500 on a completely unnecessary set of unpotted pickups for it. The Classic 57s in there are really good.
I've the stock bridge etc. on there at the minute but thinking about going back to the Bigsby.

In B4 the grant chips piss
Not a pro II, but with 490R, 57 classic, grovers, bone nut+fret dress it has made me think I don't actually need my actual Gibsons a few times.

Yep, I have it now. It is a made in Japan example, and Slowy kindly fitted SD antiquity pickups to it before trading it to me. You don't see many of them outside of Japan (for some reason).

That Bigsby was the smoothest & most responsive that I've ever had.Molly wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 8:48 pmI was travelling light, sorry. Will bring it to the next one.
