NGD - Baritone Jazzmaster

Post by Candeevr4 »

This lovely arrived from Grant(Lostininverness) last week, 15 minutes before I had to leave for G'n'R:

Specs I can remember:
28" scale
Sapele body with Flame Maple top
Ziricote Fretboard
Neck is something native, just cant remember what it is
Luminlite side markers
Mr Glyn's Attitudes
Gotoh Bridge and tuners
Graphtech nut
Dunlop Straplocks
16" Radius on the board with StewMac Medium/Higher Frets
Tuned b-B
3.8kg

Basically wanted to emulate a PRS SE Wide/Thin neck with a flatter fretboard radius, and a JM body.

Has changed up how some of my rig works, fuzz is mad on this, makes my Orion do things ive never heard it do!

So Grant built this? :wtf:

The way the grain 'leaks' over the edge of the fretboard... I love that!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Thanks came up better than expected!

Ziricote is something that PRS tends to use on its high end guitars. It can be pretty polarising depending on what the player is after, as some of the grain is white.

The neck is a chunk of 1/4 sawn matai with some carbon fiber rods as well as the truss rod for support. And yeah, that fretboard material is pretty cool! And while I didn't have much of an amplified play with it, the pickups are awesome - well done Mr Glyn!

The other more talented Grant…for clarity!
