Fender Decals
Hey, what is your preferred source for Fender replacement decals?
I have an genuine Fender Jazzmaster with no current logo.
Ordered one from eBay 1st week of January. Arrived yesterday. 7 weeks.
First thing I noticed was the incorrect spelling.
"with syncronized floathing tremelo"
Jesus wept....
Any place you would recommend for accuracy and quicker delivery?
Cheers

I climbed on the back of a giant albatross which flew through a crack in the cloud to a place where happiness reigned all year round and music played ever so loudly

Re: Fender Decals
Fender spelled synchronized wrong originally, without the h, so the incorrect spelling is in fact ‘correct’.smallface wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 9:08 am Hey, what is your preferred source for Fender replacement decals?

Was fixed in about ‘66 or ‘67, I think. Reissues also have the correct spelling.
I have a couple of Jazzmaster decals on the way from Crox guitars. Purportedly great quality. I’m probably not going to need them anymore though. Happy to pass on for a slight discount on what I paid. Not sure when they’ll arrived, but I ordered a few weeks ago so shouldn’t be much longer. They’re ‘65 style, so not the spaghetti logo but the thicker kind, which I think looks better anyway — certainly on the bigger JM headstock.

Re: Fender Decals
I think it was the 'floathing' and the 'tremelo' thats the deal breaker...
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Have you got a Jazzmaster build underway? If so, I'd love to hear about itStarfire wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 10:30 amFender spelled synchronized wrong originally, without the h, so the incorrect spelling is in fact ‘correct’.smallface wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 9:08 am Hey, what is your preferred source for Fender replacement decals?

Re: Fender Decals
Nope — I was planning a matching headstock on my JM, which would require a new decal, but have decided to leave well alone. Hence no longer needing the decal.

Actually, that was my appalling spelling!

The correct term for a fucked decal is a fecal.

Re: Fender Decals
You can buy waterslide paper and make your own on an inkjet printer, just spray clear coat over it and let it dry before wetting so it doesn't run...
