Dong Hua has that one I think?

When I bought my BBR5 I had to pick between that and a 50th Anni 68 Reissue. Went for the '55 since I always wanted a P90 LPC. When it's time for me a get a '68 the price on post-2014 ones went through the roof due to this anime, so I had to settle with a 2010.
An anime video (cool song!) drove sales of a particular year LPC? Wow.

The show ran for a whole season. Gibson also made a lot less of them after they fixed the design for whatever reason. So they've suddenly became a bit more rare.

90-something LPC - I seriously can't put this thing down. This one has a nice medium weight, normally I find LPs cumbersome, but this isn't. Love the neck shape too - it's just right. Phew.

It has aged really tastefully. Part of me wants to take out the PAFs and put in some Doug Aldrich pickups, but it already sounds fantastic so I may not do that. The previous owner added straplocks and graphtech saddles which are both good mods in my eyes.

Damn it's cool.

I played my LP infront of some students last year and the first question was if my guitar was "the one from the anime" haha.

'82 30th anniversary goldtop and a mangled '73 Deluxe. The one in the middle is Greco, so doesn't count (1990 EGC600, for the record).

Good to see the old '82 is still around
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Fuck me what a line up!

I always wondered is aged alpine white a colour or a normal alpine white that turns that amazing??

Also noticed yesterday Randy’s original is not a Gibson which I didn’t know before

GrantB wrote: Wed Jan 17, 2024 7:35 pm Let's see them guys, along with any stories. Any Gibson Les Paul will do.

My kickstarter.

'02 Les Paul Custom '68 RI (Yamano) in aged Alpine white.
'99 Les Paul '59 RI R9.
'16 Les Paul '57 RI Aged (case aged also).

Pickups are either Throbaks or Mules.

Does it have 498/490 or Bill Lawrences (PCB backplate)? I'd go for the Aldrich over 498/490 but the BL's sounded pretty cool.

I'm not sure actually - I had a look before - no PCB. Need to have another look.
