I've only managed to try the Korean made P-38. It plays well and the Piezo sounds great. I wish I could try out the USA made models which are (partially?) made out of non-wood materials. AFAIK there are not many models available in NZ which makes trying them out a problem.

Try contacting Music Planet, they were very helpful.

Awesome guitars, play very well and are very versatile... but look odd, which is why I think they are not more popular (us guitarists are a conservative lot).
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend thousands on fishing equipment he'll use for a bit, then get bored and move onto something else.

I read a quote about them from the guy who designed
them or something, something along the lines of

"Everybody has an opinion of them, most of which
aren't based on actually playing the guitar"

they're ugly but they look fun to play

Reeves Gabrels (ex-Bowie guitarist) has some really cool ones with awesome custom paintjobs. The coolest one has no visible pickups and is/was used soley as a midi guitar through his Roland VG-8. Tried to find a pic online but couldn't.

Saw Johnny Clegg in Wellington a while back and both he and his guitarist were using Parker Flys to seriously good effect. I was rather impressed by them, especially the acoustic tone and the tone variation you can get by blending that with the electric tone.

Nope sorry these are guitars for pimply faced geeks that molest small furry animals down dark alleys after midnight. Get yourself one of these and find out what 'sicko' really means.

Of course I've never actually played one but I had a mate whose friend saw one in a shop window once 'through a glass darkly' as they say.

Course harmony central parkerfly/sicko/perverts/review_69 reckon they are brill.

If they're good enough for Roine Stolt then they are good enough for me.

That said, I'll stay with my USRG and McCarty..

My ultimate goal is to have a custom made guitar that is the most ugliest looking thing ever, yet really nice to play/high quality.

The first clip in Guitars Suck 5 is a guy playing a Parker Fly. Oddly, it seems he is also playing a kind of electric shred polka, which is ... intriguing. ;)

lol, nah, I don't like pointy guitars that much. So it'd have to be curvasceous and wierd looking, with an out of it paint job :P

Edit: Damn, that still sounds metal orientated
