Ibanez Roadstar Bass, with a headstock styled after an Ephiphone... kinda...

I had a Korina strat copy, a Washburn superstrat and my Ibanez that I've still got.
Guitars I covetted were anything by BC Rich or Jackson, although I do remember spending hours drooling over the Ibanez catalogues the local music shop would get in.
The pros I admired had Kramers, Hamers and the above Jacksons or BC Richs. I used to be very impressed that CC DeVille had something like 50 BC Richs... until I played a Warlock a few years later and realised how horrible they are.
Never really been into Gibsons or Fenders and these days I don't really fancy any 'big brand' guitar, I'd far rather get something custom-made (by Ash preferably).

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend thousands on fishing equipment he'll use for a bit, then get bored and move onto something else.

I was playing an Aria SB1000 bass, a Kramer bass (aluminium neck thingy) and a late 60s Fender P Bass. Like an idiot I put masking tape over a lot of the body and when I lifted it.... I lifted some of the finish.
I lusted after having a Ricky 4001 and when I eventually got one I wondered what the fuss was about.
I moved to the UK in the late 80s and traded my SB1000 on a Wal Custom bass. That was an awesome bass, bought it back here and due to finances had to flick it on. Damn I really miss that bass.

Even though there was no music in the 80s, I kept the '70s alive by playing mainly Fender, Rickys and Gibson.
I didn't know about GAS and just bought whatever took my fancy whenever I saw it. Sold just as quickly, with never a consideration for future value.
They were just instruments... still are.
