The only thing I didn't like about the JCM900 was that it had way too many knobs

If anyone's interested, my JCM800 will be up for sale in the next couple of days - I'm only using the cleanish channel and pedals so I'm going back to a combination of Crate and Bassman or Gunn.
The CC sounded particually good with SG shaped guitars I thought.

Polar Bear wrote:Something else that should be noted, aside from thehenderson's and Timi's killer rigs, which both sounded fantastic.

Gelato brought along the much maligned JCM900 100 watt head through a Legacy 2x12 cabinet.

Obviously anything that G plays through it is going to sound amazing, this boy is seriously talented, but I just can't see where the 900 got such a bad rep from, it sounded fantastic. Clean, crunch to HiGain, if I was buying a Marshall I would go straight for that one. It just sounded fantastic, exactly how I imagine a Marshall to sound.

One question Gelato, what type of valves are in that one? El34s or 5881s?

not only that, Gelato was the first one there at 12.10pm

had the pleasure of laying down some rhythm for him while he noodled away and all i can say is: the man's got tone and skillzzz 8)

Great day, enjoyed catching up with youse fullas again, and Timi and thehenderson (closet nu-metallerz, see pics) for the first time.

As far as volume goes, I didn't think it was as loud as the last jam. Though that was in a hall half the size. Thanks to those who let me play with their toys, Gelato's Yngwie and thehenderson's Strat 'n' Carr were well cool. And I had a quick go on BG's Ash! Special. Some groovy pedals there too.

Shame someone had to let the side down by bringing a bogan SG... ;)

certainly isn't  I have a feeling I'll be spending a few hours with the allen key, fret and nut files. All in all a good buy - at least its black and came with a case....

Thanks for the kind words PB  The 900 is running EL34's, they look to be about 400 years old though so it's probably time to change them ;)

That's not very nice. Or are you talking about the amp, and not the owner :P
