Re: Auckland Gearfest?
I got them from the US, no NZ distributer.Tonemaker wrote:Thats interesting, I thought the VHT was also amazing at the Tronfest.....Hmmmm I will have to look into them more. Is there a dist. in NZ or Hamilton that has them, or where did the ones you guys have come from?
The VHT line has changed to the name of Fryette now since Jan 09.
Named after their creator Steven Fryette.
Anything with a VHT badge made after Jan 09, is made by the chinese company AXL, which is NOT to be confused with anything pre-Jan 09.
Sounds a little confusing but its fully explained on the Fryette forum.
In summary buy pre 09 VHT, or post 09 Fryette & you're getting the real deal.

Re: Auckland Gearfest?
Cool day. Got a kick out of meeting those who I managed to mumble more than a few words to and thoroughly enjoyed all the groovy bits of kit that a managed to get my sweaty mits onto.
CDs Avalon was lurvely and the Shiva was... well... the Shiva. Nuff said really.
Really enjoyed the Bellbird although I would love to get it alone for an hour or so with a mic and a quiet room.
The Catalinbread pedals that Ryan brought along were GAS inducing too- the DLS in particular but I quite liked the SFT too.
The Radians were even nicer in the flesh that in the pictures. The Sapele Tele in particular is damn sexy. Pooh brown mind, but damn sexy nonetheless. The Paul*mumble*na one was really nice to play too. Light as anything and a really nice chunky neck.
Wish I could've stayed a bit longer really but duty called. Also I'm not sure who had the more inappropriate car- me or Dong. A nissan Micra ain't very metal but then the bright yellow Ka that I was rolling in wasn't exactly butch.
Good to meet y'all and I'll hopefully get to get up here for another before too long!

Was definitely good to see all the forumites again. Highlights were probably playing Croatian punk with Fler and Zdali and the sped up A-Boogie jams
Looking forward to the next one

Good day all round. Thanks heaps to the weather. Everyone was in good form. Nice and relaxed. Awesome baking. Record turn out in chicks corner. Great to meet the out of town crew who were all cool folk. Lovely amps. Tasty Gats. Good jams. Hot sausages.
This will probably be remembered as the multi-effects fest. It was like the 80s in there for a while.
had a chance to sample a bunch of Ash radians of various flavours. Damn they're good guitars!
Thanks for the speed denden.

Was great to see everyone! I'm the lost looking fellow with the Nirvana shirt and BG looking pained in the background
BTW for anyone who is interested in the 7521, it's on the auction site...I didn't bring it along cos nobody told me to! Plus that would have meant there was another 7 string, and Kristie would have left...
