LOL
Capt. Black's best moments of the day...
-----------------
At precisely 1:40 PM I get a phone call "Hi, it's Darcy Perry here, just passing through Huntly, thought I'd ring and see how my memorial gearfest is going"
----------------
DC decides to go jam on bass in the metal room. Comes out half an hour later with a kinda puzzled grin on his face.
Capt. Black - "How was that DC?"
DC - "Aww it's good to try different styles but after a while I thought, this is all just blues..."
Capt. Black - "...Only faster right?"
DC - "...And louder."
---------------------
Darkness was showing me his guitar and amp which are very cool (and in case you don't know he's been taking lessons for the last year and can totally rock now. Well done D. )
His guitar is an Ibanez he scored from Kristie. Beautiful guitar in that Ibanez-ey kinda way. Thought I'd have a go on it and immediately find myself shredding, pinching harmonics and generally hamming it up like I've been possessed by Tsuken.
When I stopped Zdali looks at me and says something like "What's up man? You look worried or something".
"I've never played like that before in my life" I reply.... wierd... fuken Ibanezes
---------------------
Come rain or shine, at the Manor you go outside to smoke. A lot of smoking goes on around the front door. Drinking too.
The mighty Battle Circus were rehearsing today. I explained to Marcel, Battle Circus' guitarist and frontman, that the NZG gearfest was on. When they finished rehearsal I said "Stick around for a beer man". They do. I left Marcel talking to guys like Dylan, Sgt. Mukuzi and a few others. I go to help with parking.
When I get back Marcel is standing alone at the door with the biggest smile on his face, in one hand a bottle of Grolsch, in the other a rather large hand rolled cigarette of dubious origin.
Marcel - "Fuck man, I really like guitarists".
-------------------
Denden [after a last minute blast on the mighty Marshall Super Bass 100 rig, which made all of us in the room move away from the line of fire that we might live to hear another day... and it was only on two] - "Yeah it's pretty good, but to me it sounds a bit muffle-y"
Capt. Black - "Of course it does, you're standing behind it, you idiot!"

Argh. Gutted I couldn't make it (bloody flu crept in on Friday), sounds like a good day.

I guarantee the time I get to make it there, it'll be C&W night and I'll be the only one there not in a stetson, tassles, jeans and cowboy boots.
He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...

There was some fantastic music happening there. It was amazing jamming with Dylan, Sarge and Fuzziebro. Not to mention BG who's always a pleasure to mix it with.
Fuzzie makes a a mean pedal, but he also plays a mean guitar and bass.
It was a privilege guys.
