Re: Next Auckland gearfest
Ok, so the impossible has happened, after some further work last night... the amp is ready for it's first general public outing... however...
I've sort of accidentally clocked up a couple more speeding tickets than strictly necessary of late and so the traffic department of the NZ Police have recommended a 3 month free exercise programme that involves a lot of walking... making it quite difficult for me to get to said gearfest... Robroy might be able to pop along for a few hours and kindly bring me and amp, but if that falls through, any North Shorians per chance swinging by the Birkenhead area on their way there and have space for a 1/2 stack, guitar and chump? You could even use my car (Legacy wagon) if space would be an issue, it needs a good run...

Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

+3...
Was cool to meet a few cyber-people in the flesh and I have to say there may be some modesty on this forum, but there are some seriously talented guitar players on here too and I very much enjoyed listening to and watching some very cool guitarists strut their stuff. Mucho respect.
Big thanks to Bobiron for the lift, BG and Capt. for the organisation and use of the Manor. Best fun I've had for a long time!

Ditto, big thanks to all the organisers and the suppliers too. I had a great time and loved playing and meeting with so many of you all. There were really good musical moments there and some that were ...well loud shall we say. Great to see some fantastic gear, the Bogner and the Danger Mouse's custom head and cab made by Rob and his team. That is a very nice piece of engineering....well done Rob. Another highlight was Robs Thorn telecaster style guitar, very very nice.
