I'm quite keen to investigate another venue too. Nothing wrong with Eclipse but it'd be good to find somewhere a tad bigger. If we have no joy, Eclipse is still an option. I'm happy with a Saturday or a Sunday but would prefer whichever gets the best turnout.

If you make it a Saturday in June, I'll fly down...
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

STL should be sweet but access/parking isn't quite as good being in town. It's bigger and cheaper though.

Yeah parking there is a bitch. Pay & display (yeah right..) are there any rehearsal spaces around that could be used?benderissimo wrote:STL should be sweet but access/parking isn't quite as good being in town. It's bigger and cheaper though.

we can always hire another hall.
the college hall near my house is the size of a basketball court, i believe they only charge somewhere in the region of $50 for 4-5 hours.

Nah, who needs to go home when you can have a gearfest?
I'm in.
I dunno about STL though, the metal band I'm jamming with jams there and I had a helluva time finding it... At least Eclipse has a big fat sign. A hall sounds interesting.

Re: Wellington Gearfest - June ?
I think Eclipse works well. It's good having two rooms, because at least there's some seperation. Most of the time these tend to be volume battles, and as manic as it is, it'd be even worse if ALL the amps were in the same room. Plus there's the drum kit sometimes, and parking is easy. I say stick with Eclipse.
