CHCH - Christmas Beers NEW VENUE - Morel & Co today - Tuesday 19th Dec 5pm Addington

Post by sty »

Just met Dave at lunch to grab some strings and things and the question of beeries before Christmas came up.

Tentatively Dave seems good for any evening next week, I'm pretty sure I'm good the early week so what's the interest around Monday, Tues, Weds?

Timing: I'm guess 5pm or 5:30pm onwards is the starting point.

Venue wise, a good beer pub with cheap pub food and plenty of space to chat. While craft ale would be good, must have Cheap normal beer for them's that don't do the posh stuff. All ideas welcome. Could be a little bit of a challenge given its the week before Christmas

Anyone interested?????

Have any of you ever checked out the atmosphere in the Dim7th jazz bar?
I haven't, but I figured it might suit some of the more serious musos.

It's a whisky and tapas bar apparently, but hopefully has some real beers and grub too... Maybe. The photos and website actually do make it look a bit hoity-toity.

Apart from the beer i'm not a fan of Dim7th.

They haven't done anything to tidy the place up since it was Dux Live*. This is evidenced by the fact the restrooms still reek of piss and have the blue lights. The staff seem more preoccupied with each other than with customers. Can't comment on the food.

It is quiet though, because there isn't any music unless there's someone on stage. Which has been half the time based on when i've visited.

Dux central is off tuam st in the lane where the twisted hop used to be :) I knew you meant dux live tho', glad it's open again, played and watched some quite memorable gigs there!!

Dim7th sounds like an ideal bar, so horrid it's quiet and with maybe a good beer range?

since I work virtually next door, and have been known to drive through the forecourt to cut the corner on the way back from grabbing sushi lunch, maybe I should enquire about it's status next tome I pass?

@JB - Is thursday any better for you?
