Parking a phecking pain....

Left early as my ears were starting to hurt... Some nice gear though. Ben's fender on the Jansen 4/12 was an ear opener. Very nice tone without pedals I believe.

Willow's snake skin is a beauty and superlight guitar. The $80 Indian guitar with the $300 pickup sounded great too IMO.

Here some shat photos in no particular order. I hope someone took better ones.

Two Rock! Did you say you're in Glenbrook? I could take the AC30 for ya.
Thanks for the offer sorry I was late to see your reply came to the gear fest from work. Live in Auckland city but have a farm in glenbrook I go to turn up loud ha ha. Thanks everyone I had blast getting to try your guitars and pedals into my amp and my guitars into your amps.

Mine was a flying visit, my ears can't handle much more than moderate volume at present and they've been in pain for the past couple of days. Thanks for everyone turning up and asking about my toilet. Its still blocked. :(

Bright lights and tweaking!

Missed out on trying these- will have to make a point of it next time

Dangermouse brings the metal:

Image
The Greenstone of Doom looking awesome as ever!

These amps faced each other to form a vortex of doom where only the brave or ear plugged dared to tread:
Image
Image
The first is H671’s Vibro King. Big, loud, and surprisingly aggressive sounding for a Fender amp
The second is Slowy’s Optimus Prime (needs a new name- I nominate Authentic Working Death-Ray). It’s a beast. I made the mistake of trying it after inserting my ear plugs and didn’t realise just how loud it was! Apologies to everyone in the Grey-Lynn/Ponsonby/K’Road postcode. The little Jansen never ceases to please the ears too. What a little beast!

Dangermouse, BG, JVPP, H761 and RobRoyMcCoy(maybe?) all sampling the wares:
Image
Really enjoyed BG playing the Mosrite into the Greenstone of Doom.

My Gretsch getting a bit frisky with Slowy and Single-Coil’s guitars. If she’s pregnant, you’ll be hearing from my lawyer:
Image

Two-Rock lurking menacingly behind a rather tasty LP and Yamaha:
Image
I rather liked that amp- would love to have a better play with it to check out its range. What I heard was cool though. Classy looking too.
Image

Blame it on the Boogie:
Image
I think this might be peak Santana. Apologies to higainer if that offends…

JVPP’s impressive homebuilds alongside a very tasty burgundy Princeton, Vox and Yamaha
Image
The home made pickups were really interesting too- the neck pickup sounded nice and well balanced, but I felt like the bridge needed balancing. Definitely have their own thing going on- I thought the neck sounded excellent.

H671 doing the obligatory Jag into Vibro King thing:
Image

BANDIT!
Image
Some great tones and tasty playing coming out of this sucker.

And here’s my cluster:
Image
So. Much. Reverb!

Image
Assemble the troops!

Image
Jag and Regalrocket just hanging out in the fairy lights.

Great to meet everyone. Loved the low output weird stuff of Bender. Dips on the black Mosright. Thanks Willow for the go on the Charvel and EVH, I didn't want to stop playing them.

Nice photos Bender. I was particularly impressed by your Mosrite for the short time I did. Also that LP through the Two Rock, yum!

Should've stayed a bit longer, the close call with tow truck scared me off. Would've been ideal to try the Fractal stuff out once the riot had died down a bit. Good to meet everyone though!
Loving it so far
