NSOBD - Now with proper pics!!!

Post by Bg »

New smelly old bass day - not new son of a bitch day!.... Randombob (Vern) was kind enough to drop this into me this afternoon. Not taken any pics yet, but its this one.

Image
Aria - another one slowy!

Not sure of exact age, but the model designation changed in 1971, so late 60's maybe? From the Matsumoku factory.

Cracking condition, really tip top. Had to raise up the bridge as no break angle = wolf/overtones. Sounds bloody awesome now, and exactly how I was hoping!

Short scale which suits my office, I keep knocking glasses of rough red over with the longscale ;)

Might make a new bridge so I can sort out the break angle properly, maybe even intonate it! eek!
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I love this design. Short scale makes heaps of sense.

Huh, holy shit. Same bridge, and same neck as my aria sg copy. Suspect mine is a 1980.

Very cool bass Bg! I play all my bass bits on a keyboard, but if I didn't, I'd get something like this.

Going to give the frets some attention as there is some flat tops there, could be contributing to the wolftones/sitaring. Have still just spent a happy 3 hours jamming away.

I can hear the sound of that EB pickup in my head
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.
