So nice Jay. That's an earlier version of the Artist double-cut guitar, right? Which pickups? The Super-70s or something else? The black looks classy.
I mentioned it in my first impressions
It is a Super80 also known as the Flying Fingers pickup. See photo below. And you are welcome to try out the Super70, Super58 and Super80 guitars to check out how they compare. I think this model was renamed AR100 or so. Will find out.

I'm gonna say 1978 Model 2618.
Another Ibanez man. I agree with the model designation but the year is 1977
Probably will sound wonderful on your full stack!
Actually not an Ibanez fan at all. Barely paid any attention to them until this morning, thanks to this intriguing post!
My first proper guitar back in the day was a PF300 which was a good guitar but I didn’t get on with it.
Last time I picked up an Ibanez was at one of the gearfests at the Manor. Joined in a jam and immediately started full on shredding, which I never do! Stopped playing and everyone in the room, including me was like, What the FARK just happened?! Put it down as fast as I could :shudder:
But this guitar you’ve scored really appeals to me. Love that vaguely SG style.
One day, if we ever have another AK gearfest you can crank it through the old Marshall for sure.

I remember those as strange and brand new on shop walls. Now it looks elegant, classy and utterly desirable.
Why hasn't time done the same to me?
Don't talk to me about failure; sometimes I even fail to disappoint myself.
In 1979 the 2618 was priced at DM1195 (below) which equated to USD652. That is US$ 2,954 in 2024 and that would be NZD 4963 at today's exchange rate. That is a shitload of money for a guitar. I need to do this exercise for a Gibson SG or so to get a perspective.
