today i managed to make a stripboard sho boost and patch it into the output of my vox847. wah sounds far less muddy (turns out they like their output plugged into a high impedance) and no longer drops half the volume when you switch it on. And with extra gain at the output i was able to increase the input resister from 68k up to 500k.
Spent 3 hours trying to work out why sho wasnt working, turned out i had not realised that 2n7000 might be an equivalent to a bs170, but its got a different pin out.

its so hard to find a real wah that sounds half as good as the models on digital pedals.

Nice! It's a good trick to sneak a boost onto the output of the wah, and brother I've fried a few 2n7000's in my time
