alf, the pinout values the same, or will he need to do a bit of leg dancing?

Re: Treble Boost
well actually it's a $6.20 part, plus GST, unless you're planning on buying quite a few.... and somebody from auckland might pick it up for you from the tradecounter and bang it in an envelope.rocklander wrote:you can have a crack if you wish PB.. $5 part, and probably only your left testicle for delivery

So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.
Re: Treble Boost
It just plugged in from memory, definitely no weird crossing over of pins etc. I just made sure to match the pins on the case diagram with the circuit diagram to make sure it was the right way around

just over 4Vborge wrote:decrease the emitter resistor (R6).
Whats the voltage at the collector? probably easiest to test at lug 3 of the pot.
need to do some more audio messing (r6 etc) on the one here, but mrs rocky is watching tv..

Re: Treble Boost
Righto, I'll look at getting the part from RS. Then jsut slot it straight in? Are there any visible diffferences between the MAy Queen and the current boost?

Re: Treble Boost
I don't know enough about the cct to answer, but looking at the destructions it does have different values (R1,2,3,4,5,6, C1,2,3,4,5)for a lot of the components in the rangemaster than the BM Tboost. someone else may be able to qualify/correct that.Polar Bear wrote:Righto, I'll look at getting the part from RS. I'm happy to put the rangemaster parts into that other board I have so you can swap out if you wish, but it'd need you to solder in the input, output, 9V and earth wires.

Re: Treble Boost
you sure would. What do you reckon, worth a crack? Soldering the bits back in shouldn't be a problem at all!

Re: Treble Boost
Making r6 smaller will bring that voltage up to a better level, 6-7v is what you want.rocklander wrote:just over 4Vborge wrote:decrease the emitter resistor (R6).

The may queen has 3 trannys, the BM TB/rangemaster has 1, quite different circuits really.Polar Bear wrote:Righto, I'll look at getting the part from RS. Then jsut slot it straight in? Are there any visible diffferences between the MAy Queen and the current boost?

Re: Treble Boost
I'll look into this actual.. didn't consider how easy it would be for PB, cos he can just parallel another over it.. I'll see what I can come up with.borge wrote:Making r6 smaller will bring that voltage up to a better level, 6-7v is what you want.
borge, am I reading the specs right that the 2n5087 can handle up to 50V? just wanna be sure I'm not giving it too much is all..
so PB - hold off on that xistor for now...

Re: Treble Boost
now I'm confused.. I was measuring the voltage at the emitter, not collector, cos the emitter is directly connected to pin 3 of the pot, not the colllector.. the collector (pin 1 of the xistor) has 9V...rocklander wrote:just over 4Vborge wrote:decrease the emitter resistor (R6).

there some confusion here? what have I messed up?

Re: Treble Boost
I'm giving this a bump, to see if we can progress with this. Borge, did you have any other insight?
