So I've had this old Crybaby for years and never really played it much.
Everytime I use it the pot slips out of the bracket.
After a closer look today it appears the thread on the pot itself is stripped and when I try to tighten the brass nut it just pops loose.
I've taken a photo (sorry its a bit cropped - only way I could make it less than 100KB).
Can anyone suggest what I can do to fix it? Do I need to replace the whole pot+nut+washer? Or can I buy just the screw part and bend the little tabs on the pot and replace it?
The other question is - what's it worth as is? If someone wants to make me an offer I'm open - would be good for parts, or to fix, or if you just need a case for a pedal project. I was never very good with a wah anyway.
Thread stripped on Wah pot??

Re: Thread stripped on Wah pot??
I should also mention, for anyone interested, that it has a Boss type barrel pin (changed from original crybaby type) and I'm pretty sure the previous owner put a true bypass switch in it too.
The casing is pretty beaten up, but looks kinda cool.

Try replacing the nut first. It's not brass, it's plated cast zinc and will probably strip before the aluminium pot thread does.

Actually I think you might be right Ash, looking closely at the pot itself the thread looks intact. I'll try getting the cog off and see what the nut looks like.
Assuming most threads are common sizes, am I gonna be able to buy a replacement from somewhere handy do you think?
