TCE Fluorescence mod question

Post by Vince »

Hi, I love my TCE Flurorescence (shimmer reverb). It's a wonderful pedal.

There's only one problem, I lose a lot of volume when I use it.

It's fine if I have it on all the way through a song but if I want to use it in just part of a song it doesn't go well because all of a sudden I can't be heard over the rest of the band.

Is there any way to mod this by somehow increasing the output? No, there are no hidden dipswitches.

Or do I have to make a sort of separate section in my pedalboard. and put the Fluorescence in a branch where there's a boost always switched on?

I thought this was going to be a thread about dressing Bg up in luminous yellow and pink. Mild disappointment is now setting in

Wow that's really nice of you Mike, checking Google to see if MF has someone to help look after him over Xmas.

Or were you just looking for some chairs to borrow?

pop a simple boost inside the pedal, one of those SHO pcbs is tiny, sould be easy enough to insert onto the output jack.

If not, make a mini FX loop boost pedal, should be able to fit something like that into something tiny.

I was thinking this too, surely something like this exists already, but likely buying one would mean you might as well spend the money on an upgrade to a better reverb…

I don't know that a better reverb would solve the volume difference thing though.

Awww thanks. :)

Yeah, playing just acoustic bass guitar and just as a solo instrument I began to feel I didn't have much to ask or to contribute.

The volume drop thing is fairly unique, not something I’ve experienced before!
