Question for the amp gurus

Any idea why an amp would have three 0.5amp 250v instead of a single 1.5a/2a?

To protect different parts of the circuit. Pretty common to a have slo-blow on the primary, and fast blow on the HT, then there is the heater circuit and some have fuses on the OP transformer or low voltage switching circuits.

Yes that makes sense.
Popped a fuse on the bassman 6g6b last night. That’s actually handy as I can work out what part of the amp was the issue

Righto
Isolated the issue to one of the 5881 output tubes
Damn
Guess it’s a new set!
Actually I have a matched pair of 6l6 groove tubes
Should be good to go?
Might be the day I learn to bias an amp…

5881 is just a mil spec 6L6 isn't it, but lower wattage... so going to 6L6s should give you more clean headroom and volume, rahhh!
