Was impressed then and now!

I like the style.
Yep I sold a tweed princetony clonish thing last year, and a tweed deluxish clone earlier this year, mainly because there's no more room in my amp cupboard. (Would've kept them all if Mrs tubeswell wasn't so irritated that the house will be overrun). I wouldn't want to do this for a living because there'd be nothin' in it (but sheer enjoyment :P ) but I confess that I have unfortunately become addicted (and I just got a whole lot more parts from Clarry :? ). So now I'm in another dilemma because I just finished a tweed bassman/JTM45/bluesbreaker with reverb & tremolo (that's 5 amps in 18 months) and my amps are starting to spill out into the hallway again.

I've only just finished it - sorry I've got to enjoy it for a wee while. Come back and ask me in 6 months or so. :)

Keep up the good work buddy!
Don't worry about the "table cloth" comments, If you build an amp for a figiian band as I am going to do you should offer them Tapa cloth covering instead!
( I know a really expert maker of such cloth up here)

What an excellent idea! There's a place down here that sells piles of Tapa too.

Send me the amp (or cab) show me the cloth pattern you want and I will get the Tapa cloth made to order.
If you have a Hawiian band I have a really old shirt off my back..........
But seriously, you could put anything flat on your Cabinet and finish over it.
DAMN! I just gave away another selling feature for my stuff!
Go for it Tubeswell, your excellent amps need new clothes for special customers!

Yeah, I thought you would like that idea.
Warehouse Tapa will not suit your products!!!!!!!!!!
Should have kept my gob shut and finished the project first and let you and everyone else see it in some place of honour in Dorkland!
I must be missing some factor in this boutique amp scene, haven't sold one yet despite excellent feedback from great musicians who try my amps.
Mind you I have lots of examples of my work for them to try in my purpose built demo room.
Phil Rice (he has a guitar school in Howick) has my AC4, I think from the text messages he has been sending me that I won't be getting it back.
Anyway my wife's friend hand makes the Tapa so if you want the real deal give us a yell.

Yeah I get loads of good feedback from other musos who hear and play my amps too, but fewer peeps could afford to actually buy a handmade tube amp than who would like to buy one I think. Also I am just a hobbyist who makes amps for my own enjoyment and I am not set up to manufacture masses of amps as a going concern. I couldn't make them cheaply enough to complete with the Asian rim. And because my amps look very 'handbuilt' (because they are), and style is a personal thing, then unless somebody likes the look of what you make (no matter how good they might sound), they would probably prefer to buy a factory churned out thing from the Asian rim.

In the end I prefer to keep my amps (after all they are a labour of love), but every so often I am forced to offload them, otherwise Mrs tubeswell gets fractious.
