Nifty little design. Interesting supply. - talk about votage multiplication! must be a pretty spongy supply. I'd consider making it with a tranny but then it would be bigger and mains operated.
Don't know where you would source the sub mini tubes locally but http://www.evatco.com.au/ have them.

I can get the tubes - model number is 6111 correct? If so, good timing - I'm placing an order with a supplier today, I could add the 6111's on to the order. Could do a bit better than USD$20 ea too.

It's 20 Australian dollars :)
Needs 5672 as well.

That link Ears posted looks like a good source for both tubes. I could get the 6111 easily, and at a better price, but the 5672 is harder for me to source.

I thought you were afraid of 30V+? Even though it doesn't say it on there, the voltage gets multiplied to something quite big through that power supply.

BTW, whats this "right click and 'view image' to see the whole thing" business? Is that some secret Mac or Firefox handshake? My IE7 don't play that game.

That looks cool as. Do it, especially if it sounds good.
I reckon it'd be cool to give something like that a shot, maybe once I finish all the pedals I've got bits for...

interesting PSU design alright, almost like a CRT TV supply (LOPT) :D

But seriously, if ya powered it off AC 12v instead, you could just buy a tiny 12v mains transformer (probably even PCB mount) and wire it in reverse. would give you 200v @ a few mA

the thread link (first one) says it goes to 70/80VDC.. at least it's not the 00's that the big boys get to.. closer to my comfort zone, but another reason that I'm a bit weary..

and yep, it's a firefox instruction.. BG even says he designs the site to be optimal with ffox, if it works with others that's just a bonus.. get ffox :P
