Princeton reverb build
Here are some shots of my nearly finished princeton reverb project.
Many thanks Ryan for your patient question answering, schematic explaining and provision of parts.
Got the final solder joints done today. Had to take it up to Clarry to get the grounding soldering done as my iron was too wimpy.
Not the prettiest of the 'show us your amp guts' showcase but I'm happy with it as a first build.
If it makes sound I'll be even happier.
Also a shot of the cab, loaded with 12" cannabis rex and tilt back legs ready to be installed.

Re: Princeton reverb build
Cheers, yes, can't wait to get it fired up and installed.
Gonna take it up to Clarry for initial fire up next weekend.
Will spend the week doing final checks against the schematic and cleaning up shoddy looking solder joints.

Re: Princeton reverb build
hmmm iv twisted all the tranni ones and the heater filament wires. which others do I need to do? im a noob, so educate me!
Re: Princeton reverb build
If you can be bothered, I would re-do the heater wiring - to minimize hum, you want tight twists with no gaps, right up to the socket pins.StrummersOfThunder wrote:hmmm iv twisted all the tranni ones and the heater filament wires. which others do I need to do? im a noob, so educate me!

Re: Princeton reverb build
ITS ALIVE !!!!
Power up done with Clarry in west Auckland. No smoke, no fire. Only issue was my tremolo wasn't working so he has helped me sort that out.
But now we are up and running. Grounding seems great, runs quiet.
I'll be attempting to record something this weekend, either soundcloud or YouTube.

Congrats. It's a great feeling.

Thanks.
Anyone know a good way to get decent audio to line up with video on YouTube?

Re: Princeton reverb build
You have to shoot the movie in high definition and record simultaneously in high density into your DAW, and then use something like iMovie or whatever to attach the soundtrack to the movie.

Re: Princeton reverb build
I think there are automatic tools now, but the low tech way is to use a sharp transient noise like a handclap to provide an index point to align the high quality audio with the scratch audio on the video.StrummersOfThunder wrote:Thanks.
