Deluxe Reverb for MogwaiBoy
She lives... DR build for MogwaiBoy had her first heartbeat early this arvo. The often unused NORMAL channel is modded as a "lead" channel and also has reverb + tremolo on it - thanks Rob Robinette for these mods. And both channels are (now) in phase so can be jumpered. I just have to replace the 8-ohm OT with a 4/8/16-ohm OT and get BG to build the head cab.

Re: Deluxe Reverb for MogwaiBoy
What does the "lead" channel mean? How does it differ from the normal channel?

Re: Deluxe Reverb for MogwaiBoy
Man, there's a lot going in there. Nice one!
Yeah turrets, I prefer working with them over eyelets. I've never actually seen any pre-made AB763 turret boards so figured I could make them. At this stage I have a template to make the BF Princeton Reverb boards (AA1164) and the AB763 Blackface boards. The big reason is cost - I am trying to build these amps at a lower price point... everything that isn't purchased/shipped from overseas helps reduce it. Yes it is a little busy in there... and all of the other Blackface Amps (AB763) have a pretty much identical circuit. The AB763's are actually quite alot of work but I still get a thrill when I've finished the build and go thru the first-time fire-up procedure. I feel like jeremyb a few posts ago... I might need counseling

+1 for Turrets... better in every way imho. Nice job making the boards! Hoffman amps did a (pricey) AB763 turret board from memory, but well worth making them yourself if you're set up to do it. It looks great in there too btw... quite a feat wiring up one of those things, well done mateMikeC wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 8:57 am Yeah turrets, I prefer working with them over eyelets. Re: Deluxe Reverb for MogwaiBoy
Yes... definitely don't make it too tight in there!
With the SR head build initially I had reverb noise issues. I had shielded everything of course, re-soldered all cables twice and went slightly cross-eyed... it ended up being the magnetic field around that beefy PT. I had to shoehorn the tank into the furthermost corner inside the head cab to eliminate it. It literally only has one possible orientation and position inside the cab to be quiet. Your PT is probably a lot smaller, but this one had me sweating for a bit till I sorted it
