Also designed and 3d printed a speaker jack plate, as the one I got from jaycar I couldn’t get black screws small enough to fit…

Still got a long way to get to BG's level, not that I'm trying to... this might be the last cab I build

Re: 1 x 8" cab build
You're doing well buddy, and I'm sure its just a bedroom cab so vinyl should be fine, unless its a piece of bedroom furniture that gets well used....
I get by on the bear minimum of tools. Sawbench, 3 routers, router table, 2 dovetail jigs, sliding mitre saw, air stapler, many clamps and a shitload of hand tools, I do have a heat gun but rarely use it - after overheating a piece of grill cloth, I very rarely use it.
Over the course of many cabs, I'm still learning how to fix mistakes. If I could put corners on everything it would speed the process a lot I should start charging extra for no corners.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Re: 1 x 8" cab build
Corners are ridiculous, was in for $50 for a set… going to 3d print some instead
I think until you actually try to build one you have no idea of the cost in tools and materials to make one, let alone time!!

Of course they are... I make roughly the price of 1 KFC per cab I make.

Yeah if it wasn’t for the fact I need to be making physical stuff with my hands for my mental healths sake I would definitely just buy one!!

Thats why I do it... things will need to change when we move to Nelson though, I want to start ramping down from the mental taxing stuff.

You may want some more screws in the back panel, doesn't look very secure.
(actually looks very impressive)

Re: 1 x 8" cab build
did I mention I tend to over engineer things? the back is such a tight fit I added those loops of ribbon to help pull it out, hopefully won't need to take it off...Danger Mouse wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 1:54 pm You may want some more screws in the back panel, doesn't look very secure.
