Never had a problem since then.MikeC wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 7:47 pmI chatted to Bill about your amp Bruce, we were on the subject of blown rectifiers...Slowy wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 7:24 pmBill is ruthless; in his standards as well as his own work. I have a MikeC amp, I could have told him but it's good to work stuff out for oneself.NZTone.e wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 12:44 pm Well, an interesting chat I’ve just had with Bill, the builder of Optimus Prime.
He’s been telling me for a while that he hasn’t got time to build an amp so was looking around for something that piqued his interest…we’re chatting away, he’s telling me about this amp he’s bought, then I clicked, it’s a Sixty-One SRT!
It’s very exciting, firstly, because I’ll get to have a good thrash on one, and secondly, because Bill says Mike’s build is as good as any boutique amp makers build he’s ever seen!
How cool is that, well done Mike!
Components, design, workmanship, Bill says it’s all top notch!

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: MikeC Sixty-One SRT
I was privileged to play Mike's SRT today.
Reminded me of my old JMI 30/6 in the spongy compression and bloom. Not bright a modern Voxy, chewy and full like the old ones. Well done Mike.
I must have one.

Re: MikeC Sixty-One SRT
Updates - SRT #7 sold yesterday and #8 is now under construction - it should be ready in 2 weeks or so. Miza has just finished a prototype Sixty-One SRT head cab which has a top vent and is 3cm taller than the cab I was using for a bit more reverb tank distance from the 50Hz hummy PT. And a 112 combo cab is now on the drawing board. GrantB played my own SRT through his Divided-by-13 112 cab loaded with a 16 0hm Red Fang. Phwoar - great guitars, great licks and that Red Fang. Faaaark, I just landed a (Chinese) Greenback G12M and now I'm gonna have to source a Red Fang!

No and its a good point. I need a mic'd cab review. I might have to hit up Grant. These days my own playing just leaves me disappointed.
