Are there any amp techs on the West Coast ???

Howdy
Due to the absence of online valve amp courses (plenty of transistor/op amp stuff), I was wondering if there are any amp techs on the West Coast (Greymouth, Hokitika) that could show me the intracies of crafting tone with regards to component selection (valve/output transformers etc). I have some books & have researched online , but I am only now in a position to start purchasing kits & there is nothing like learning the tips & tricks directly from an experienced tech as opposed to reading books or watching vids.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer...
