An EL84 amp in a vintage radio cabinet

Hello, I am new to NZguitars and by way of introduction here is a small amp I have built using a 1951 Columbus vintage radio cabinet. The preamp tubes are 12AX7 and 12AU7 and the output tube is EL84. It delivers about 3Wrms at 1KHz into an 8 inch speaker. I would be interested in any comments, and if there are any players reading this I would be keen to know how it compares with other amps of similar power.

Would be great to hear a sound clip. Also can you post some shots of the chassis/circuit/layout ?

Yes guilty as charged! I have built a few, and sold some of them. So far, no complaints and the feedback from buyers has been good.

I’m a happy owner of a Princeton type
circuit by Tubaholic. Very classy amp in sound and looks. ( Tubaholic, it’s Dave from Tauranga)
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Yip, had a thrash on this one a couple weeks ago, sounds wicked wound up full noise and didn’t make my ears bleed…bonus!

Nice amp!

I bet Devo has changed a little from my days there as a teen in 1980 - Drongle Buss Co, 'The Splade' with Th' Dudes, Hello Sailor, Pop Mechanics etc. playing in the back bar, big brawls with the Navy lads at the Masonic that had us young whelps running for cover, or maybe it's exactly the same ;)

Anyway, welcome aboard.
