Don't get me wrong I do love a good ding. But this isn't a cool buckle rash type ding.
The story is there was a black spot of paint in the clear coat (a gibson factory defect), and it has annoyed me for ages, so in a a moment of insanity I polished it out.. which worked.. but left a nicely polished hole in the clear coat.
I reckon just a drop of nitro will cover it, or I could just leave it as a reminder to never ever doing anything like that ever again..

Heya
I think most of us would say let the nitro wear to a nice patina and embrace the natural relicing
That being said I nasty chunk out of it in certain places will look odd
Please post pics

Asking for photos derailed this thread. Apologies pouakai76. But yes, do put up some photos of the offending area.

Hey Robthemac thanks for this I've sent WPC an email.
Yep here's a picture:

The damage is the small sanded circle just below and to the right of the stop bar.
Feel like a drop of nitro would cover it, but honestly having a second look, its not that bad. Worse damage on some of my favourite player's guitars!

You do you, mate, but that's something I'd personally leave well alone! You'd have to probably tint the nitro a little for it to match the burst.

Which part of nZ are you in? If close to Waikato I can help.
