I've headgunned the finish on a couple of guitars. I don't trust myself with an electric sander or drill on my guitar, so I do it manually!

Even had time to shield the pick guard!

I'm heading up to auck'town on Sunday to meet Trevor Binford again to get his help with the Neck pocket and also use his workshop to cut/plane/route things.

All the parts are here - so Now i just need to get it all ready.

Day well spent with Trevor from Binford Luthiery.

All routing done and even got the contours in - Trevor had me do most of the work which was nice - just got him to help with the neck pocket and some other parts i wasn't overly convinced I could do properly with my router experience.

Had a small chip out with the router at the end grain - so part of the curve of the guitar isn't "traditional" shape as we trimmed it with the bandsaw - you wouldn't even notice

Now to spend a day sanding - then it's finishing time.

nothing amazing to update - Spent this afternoon/evening sanding - cutting away the rough edges with 120, and then smoothing out with 240.

Next step is a grain fill on the parts that need it - then another 240 then 400

I hope you are planning on a see through guard to show them off!
By the way, I complexly fucked the finish on the body of my tele so I'll be starting from scratch

. So a chance to reroute with an actual router I guess
