W00T, Bigsby Tele! Looks cool. I agree on the different neck. Matching headstock sounds cool though.
Been playing mine briefly this evening. Can't get over the clarity of these Lollars. So good!

Re: Projects in the pipeline thread!
I made some up for my Teles. They were a complete waste of time. Looked great until i put them on, but there was no density to their colour; looked washed out and faded. Tried but couldn't fix the problem.jeremyb wrote:From memory of threads on tdpri theres guys on ebay who will do them for youkdawg2a wrote:Actually, I want to do that too. Any links people? Rothko and Frost in the UK do very nice custom decals in traditional guitar styles. Just type in the words you want.

Re: Projects in the pipeline thread!
Thinking there may be a Totara neck in this.... may be even 2 or 3?
Pulled out of our bush which used to be a meadow. Think it is about 60-80 years old.
Put it on the big 3-phase 0.5m diameter table saw and here is the result.

Top bit was in the ground so rotted through after all these years.

Nice growth...

Hopefully there is enough timber in the side bits.... The grooves are quite deep..

Let's add another one to the all others that I haven't finished yet.
Anyone guess what the end result of this project will be?

I suppose. Although I am actually building the template for the case. Depends on how you define project.Unread postby *UNIQUE* » Mon Jun 22, 2015 10:15 pm
A case?
This project ends when the template for the case is complete. And then the case project can start in earnest.
One more pic showing the current state of the template.
No guesses for what was the template for template?

Similar shape to BG's penis, so perhaps that was the template?

Would you use entirely Totara for neck or more as fretboard material?

Ah, you are referring to a PITPL that has made no progress at all. Yes, the intention was to use it for the whole neck and then put something contrasting on top. I thought maple on Totara might look interesting. Or puriri perhaps?Unread postby calling card » Tue Jun 23, 2015 8:49 am

Re: Projects in the pipeline thread!
What are you planing to use as a finish over the totara? I have read about its tendancy to "leak" oils (or whatever the proper term is) for a long time. I've use a bit of totara and applied tru-oil over top, and had a pig of a job with it being blotchy until I had a lot of coats on. Apparently there is a sealer thats either good for use on, or was developed for, totara? What have you used before?jvpp wrote:Ah, you are referring to a PITPL that has made no progress at all.
