I realisethat these are going into your hanbuilt guitar, so you're going to all of the extra effort with the timber surrounds etc. the rest of the guitar is really special, so the extra effort is well worth it.

Thanks chaps, I just phucked up drilling one polepiece hole, drill must have slipped sideways. So spent half an hour making an ebony 6mm dowel and plugging it up again. I think that's it for tonight. Another shot at it tomorrow night but this time before I drink that elephant beer.

Do you have a spare drilled PCB you could use as a guide?

I know, I know, I should have made the ebony top first and overlay on the PCB to get a perfect macth. I only realised that after I had soldered in the coils and I could not be buggered taking them off (and I had only made one PCB). Wish I had now. :( Anyways, I will do that for the neck pickup to avoid this issue all together.

That is how to tell someone gives a fuck about their project.

Crazy... anyways, worked out well. You have a hard time spotting which hole I phucked up... :D

Progress with the cover, still loose on it and still lots of sanding to be done. Tomorrow drill the height adjustment holes, etc. Fourth time lucky I hope

that looks first class!

You should do a full set and we can play dominoes :D

I reckon you could probably lose the 'supposed' bit now too ;)

I should rename this thread to "Lotsa little headaches"...

Did a quick sand but scratches remain, tempted to mail them to Darkville for a proper sanding session with 'Sander James'! :)

Bit of Lizard Spit on the ebony and we have two Dominoes. You think they need a logo on top?

Next up wiring them for oscilloscope tests.

Logos on pickups are hit and miss. I for one prefer them without; I reckon if you make another set (or another set of covers) whack a logo on them and see how you go.

if you were going to produce a number, potentially to flick on, you could get the tops, lasered by ponoko, and have a logo burnt in also, for these ones I wouldn't.
