time to trim off some of the excess and get the neck to the right thickness. Is still square and about 15 mm at the first fret and 17 or so at the 12th.
I leave a fair chunk at the Volute to hand carve later.

I really need a fret press. I've been refretting my ash custom p90 beast, and the bloody things are bouncing out with the mallet Maybe next year.

Heres an important tool for when you are glueing the neck...a big bucket of hot water.
check that the clamps will fit and work...note the plank behind the body and clamped to the taile end. This gives me a safe clamoing surface under the beck where its been shaped glue!
