Actually, I should have put a few more steps in that subject line. Ash, I never realised guitarbuilding was so intensive!

Gosh, that's a long read...I'm gonna have to come back to it later this afternoon. I like the bit about removing dents with an iron, pref not your wife's :lol:

Soldering Iron is just as good, easier to hit the right spot too....

He does it the hard way. I just have a big black machine that I pour sawdust, beard clippings and old tin cans in one end and it pumps guitars out the other end.

I use that same recipe most nights for dinner!

Best hour I've wasted for quite a while. 8) Recessing the neck and jack plates was really heart in the mouth stuff; brave man. The spruce body was an intriguing idea. Have you ever done that Ash? If so, what was it like?

Depending on the customer there'd be bits of anorak thrown in too wouldn't there?

I've done a kahikatea body or two, which has a lot in common with spruce and an Alaskan cedar/Nootka spruce body which isn't done yet. Those woods are generally warm and chimey.
