old new stuff
well thanks to the removal of a wisdom tooth I have found myself with a day off ....so i figured I might as well post these up, both have been to tronfests so its taken me a while to get around to this. Sorry for shite pic's, my camera has decided it just wants to be a paper weight now
first we have a dinky sized super strat
pacific rimu (what ever the hell that is) contoured body for extra comfort
maple neck
duncan JB in bridge, original OLP pick up in neck
this was quite a dull sounding guitar (you get that when trying "different") woods, but stainless steel strings has made it a face ripping beast (the SS strings also help with handling the metal picks I use...so far the wear from where I pick is minimal compared to nickel)
(yes that is tape on the back..still haven't got around to making a cover)
next is a repaint of a guitar I have posted before
after adding a humbucker in the neck position I really feel out of love with this one because the look with 3 pick ups linda irritates me (which is a shame because it has the best neck of all of my guitars)...so i figure meh paint the bugger. so on anniversary weekend my son and I set about trying to start and finish in 3 days. I did the undercoating, he did the orange layer, I taped the stripes and then he sprayed the purple.....he did pretty good for a 4 1/2 yr old ...then I clearcoated it
all maple body and neck
dimarzio super D in bridge, dimarzio HBH in neck coil split (dummy single coil just to fill the hole)
as you would expect with maple this is fairly bright (esp with the HBH) so an upgrade to "fatter" sounding pick ups will happen one day

Cool man, I like the jack in the back idea on the top one.

Might be the RS pic but that looks squished...kinda fat and short...fugly. And I like explorer and kelly shaped gats.willow13 wrote:have seen that in person, but it doesn't grab me as much as the desolation stars if one ever comes in my bank account might be in trouble againhamo wrote:Speaking of things you'd like, did you see the price drop on this?
