On the bench is this Squier. Here for a tidy up, new strings and setup for a new learner/ owner. Just interested to see what you guys think the timber is. Its an Indo manufactured one and apparently the "S" in the serial means its a Special Run.

I don't know but it looks the same as an old Tokai Strat I used to own. I never got on with it but I sold it to a mate who happily gigged it for 20 years before replacing it with a Suhr.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

On the dining table workbench
Rounding the fretboard edges, made new bridge base from puriri. Fretboard and frets cleanup and treatment. New strings to go on with setup following.

I installed some 1978 Maxon U1000 pickups in my Greco today (same pickup as Ibanez Super 70), and also changed the wiring to something a bit more interesting.
Instead of the usual vol and tone for each pup like the classic LP setup, I've wired it so now it's:
Volume for neck
Volume for bridge
Master treble cut (bridge tone)
Master bass cut (neck tone)
Surprisingly useful.
