First photo shows many years of player 'damage', the second photo shows a small selection of the gunk I scraped off on either side of the frets (you can see the layers of gunk in the first photo right next to the frets).

I recognize that inlay pattern… nice guitar!
Ah, but these inlays were used on a few models though...

I know, and they are all good guitars :-)

This pickup was playing up a little (shorting) and had a very short wire. Shorting happened in that short wire so took the opportunity to change it to a long 4 wire pickup allowing for serial & parallel humbucking as well as single coil use.

Replaced the ugly stock chrome bridge on my bass with a black wilkinson one with brass saddles, just waiting for the black tuners and string tree to arrive now...

They are, too small for bass strings :-)

Wasn't happy with the last swirly paint effort on this pedal, so I had another go. This time primed and painted before doing an acrlyic pour and clear over top.

Big shout out to Jay. That AS200 he rewired is mine. It is now up and going, and it is just wonderful. These guitars are not over-rated.

This one had not been used in over 15 years and when I got it the original pickups we’re long gone. I got an original pair of Super 58s from Gumtree in Oz. It took over 2 hours to get all the gunk off the fretboard. Urgh. But totally worth it. There’s still a few little things to fix, but there is no hurry now it is playable. This is a guitar I’d been hunting for several years.

I should add that it had an original pair of Dimarzio PAFs fitted, the first series they made I think. Which it turns out are now in demand again. So I might get a few dollars back also :-)

Awesome! It’s a great looking guitar, and Jay is a proper
GC.

Cheers. It's just a cheap Mosky DOD clone. I also did a spare 1590B enclosure I had hanging around.
