They'll say yes. Even if you can't get it locally just phone Spray Store with the information I provided earlier in this thread, tell them you want black (I think you said black) and ask them to courier it. There's no difficulty in sourcing nitro in cans. It's not unobtainium.

So I rang some shops today, and Wairau paints had the best spray can deal, 400ml fo $35. Spraystore had it aswel but bit more pricey, whereas Colourworks had only acyclic laquer. I will go with Wairau paints as they are close by and local!

out of interest Molly, how many cans do you recon it would take to spray a strat body that had been sealed and prepared to take a colour like Surf Green?

Less than one. I did a few coats on a Strat recently and there's enough left to maybe, at a pinch, do my Tele. I'll likely end up painting my daughter's skateboard though.

I'm going to have to think seriously about coming round to your place and bribing you with a box of beer or similar to help me paint this strat body when I'm ready.

Just need to work out how to prep it now.

Bumping this before I go on a nitro shopping spree. I'm planning on spraying a Partcaster, then maybe re-finishing a poly Strat. Will I need a spray-can of sanding sealer and primer for each guitar, or will half a can be enough?

Half a can is enough. I can just, just get two refins out of one can of lacquer.
