Hey awesome track man, guitars sounds killer! :)
Your vocals are really good, just wish they were bigger in the mix... maybe a mix/eq thing?
For a WIP its super tidy, nice job

sounds really good Ed.

The Riff guitar, Bass and Drums sound excellent to me.
Just a few small thoughts from me, for my tastes...
I know it's a scratch solo but the first part of the solo sounds a bit quiet to me, although from the twiddly bit it seems to sit better.
The vocals don't sit right, they don't seem part of the song more like they're a backing tape or you've recorded different vocals over a pro-recording. Also it sounds to me like two different vocalists, are you emulating the ScottW megaphone thingy?
Finally the bit after the guitar solo ends, is it called a breakdown? where you just get the drum roll things I wonder what it would sound like with the bass a bit more dominant alongside the drums.

Sounds good though overall, it sounds comfortably familiar which I don't think is a bad thing, and if you've done that with your own gear then it sounds like you're working out how to get the best from it.

Yeah I noticed that too. Need to figure out how to get it to "pop" better.

Hmmm, which part do you reckon it sounds like different vocalists? In the breakdown I was kinda cupping the mic to get the distorted effect, but otherwise the rest of the time I don't think I did anything different (intentionally). I also really don't know how to EQ vocals yet, so that might be part of it. The rest is more polished sounding since they're designed to be "net shape" sounds, if you know what I mean.

Good idea. Nothing has been done with bass levels in different sections, I'll try and bring it forward a little in that bit.

Yep it will be that bit where you cup the mic. It's not completely different but I thought it was noticeable, especially the first time I listened to it. I wouldn't have thought of actually getting the vocalist (or you in this case) to use mic technique to change the sounds I would have done it in the mix - BUT I'M NO AUDIO ENGINEER so I probably know nothing.

Yeah, you're right, previously when I've tried to do "radio voice" on songs I've done it after recording, but I thought it would be an interesting thing to try
