sweet as! as i said, really dig the track. look forward to hearing where you guys take it!

as for the "interlude" i was talking about, closest "example" i can think of off the top of my head would be Dayvan Cowboy by Boards of Canada. the intro is nice and washed out and dreamy and it builds up to that really epic "break" where all you hear is the chord strums of the main melody and then the drums drop. it creates that whole anticipation + reward thing.

rock on! :)

on the bit-crusher note - next time we catch up jason, i'll bring that little pocket-pus pedal and if you like, you can use whenevs, sounds super nasty but when low in a mix w/some verb and delay adds heaps of texture. (russian circles' schipol intro is an example of similar effect, the tremolo picked guitar that falls away into messy noise)

personally like the track as is, the bass thing i kinda see like, one of those suprise things you hear on repeated listens. who doesn't like hearing new things in music with each listen?!
pretty new band - could go anywhere with this style. excite.

the reverse idea is a goodie though. reverse guitars <3

Love reverse guitars too!

I do have a bitcrusher plugin in Fruity Loops (that i'm using for making the beats and general track assembly before passing a wav file to the other guys) but I didn't want the bassline in that track to get 'nasty' whatsoever - I wanted deep, smooth, subby - thinking more about hearing it at the movie theatre, not the laptop :)

I see even Mooer now have a little mini bitcrusher pedal!

Just checked out a 'Black Secret Vs Vintage Rat vs new Rat2' video... wow the Black Secret is super close to the proper old Rat - and the Chinese Rat2 is muffled as.

Listening through it... the thick parts sound kinda contrapuntal to me. (IANTIMT -- I Am Not Trained In Music Theory)

I like how it sounds all floaty, but still drives, in the first part. Like a zeppelin with a dozen RollsRoyce Merlins driving the propellers. But then it fades out, like you're drifting on a breath of mist.

Sounds great! The Massive Attack influences are clear to me!

Had another blat on this track this morning. Personally, I love the structure and everything as it is. It's not obvious, and is a great little journey. Certainly feels shorter than 10mins!

I don't know what to say to you guys - you are simply awesome. I thought it might be aligned with a few people's tastes here, and my hunch was right : ) More response here than anywhere in Facebook land that's for sure. Cheers!

Next song on the block will be called Consequence. Hopefully get started this weekend... always depends how knackered I am after the kids goto bed : )

Fingers crossed for some Jakob support shows on their release tour :shh:

I've finally realised what it reminds me of --
