Dragged a few guitars into the living room and spent the evening playing with Audacity. Recording some chord sequences and just noodling over them. Absolutely nothing worth sharing but much better than watching telly.
Fancy giving this a bit more of a go. Makes sense given that there's nobody else around here that plays guitar.

Get a looper. It's much more immediate than recording.

Re: Spent the evening playing with myself
Good idea. Might just do that.
I was using open D tuning for the backing most of the time (on an acoustic) and the Les Paul to noodle over the top so I guess in that case I'm kind of obliged to record a backing track first.

+1 on getting a looper. A little TC Ditto is all you need. I like nothing better than looping a nice basic rhythm bit down and fluffing around over the top of it.
I love playing with myself.

No. No output on the acoustic. Will look into the looper just the same. Anything that enhances the playing with yourself experience.
Might call my first solo album: Playing With Myself (Sounds very David Brent - bet it's been done though).

Get a shubb cut capo (bars three strings) and put it on second fret and play a bunch of D shapes, then jam over that in E on electric. Fun fun.
Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...

Oh. I had no idea you could get one ready made. I cut a Kyser with a hacksaw instead.KentNZ wrote:Get a shubb cut capo (bars three strings) and put it on second fret and play a bunch of D shapes, then jam over that in E on electric. Fun fun.
