Need new recording interface
Right, final pod farm UX2 melt down tonight. No more can I take.
Never had a clean run with this unit, always made my lappy shit itself, crash etc.
And the usb port in the back of the unit has always felt crappy, fragile and loose. Went to use it tonight and noticed one of th 4 pin things was pushed in. Pluggd in and it went briefly , then intermittently , but then gave up to ghost.
Took it apart and the whole input thingo hub needs replacing as the fine part of one lug is snapped through. Not worth sending it off, and its out of warranty. Just over it too.
So good excuse to buy a nice bit of kit.
What it needs to do:
Plug in dynamic and phanton power condenser mic for recording guitars and vocal.
Be compatible with a simple usable plug in set upfor effects.
Budget less than $400.
Ideas?

Looks cool. Yeh, looking at things, the price of gear has come down a lot since I was last looking.

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Any of the sub-$400 Focusrite stuff from the Rockshop (via Dave) would get my vote, particularly from the newer Scarlett range. Some of them can also be used with iOS devises.StrummersOfThunder wrote:Throw me some ideas , three are too many to choose from!benderissimo wrote:The world is your mollusc. I was researching the 2i2 just yesterday because I'm thinking about getting one for it's mobility, seems to be all good, can't find anything wrong with it on the world wide web, well, nothing that matters anyway!StrummersOfThunder wrote:2i2 looks good to me
