Yeh i really want hammer action
Basically want acoustic piano , wurly and Rhodes for the most part so kinda want that wooden key weighted Rhodes feel.
I may find a synth too so that will more likely have waterfall key action

Do you play Piano, or just want to learn?
We have a full sized electric piano, weighted keys etc, cost about $1100 from Music Planet, a Korg somethingorother, I’ll try and find out the model, it’s at my mother in law’s atm, but it sounds perfectly fine, only has about 8 different sounds in it, I didn’t want any frills, just piano.
I might know someone selling a good one, I’ll check if it’s still available and give you the specs…
Actually, you don’t want one like mine, it’s only output is headphones I think, not even midi from memory, sounds good though, and keys are a little stiffer than an actual piano, but you just adapt…

Self taught from a young age
I own a piano but gave it to a friend when I moved to Aussie years ago (now back in nz )
I feel like I can’t really nab the piano back as he’s had it that long
Also I think a digital piano is much more likely to suit me
As much as I’d like to think I’ll much around with a lap top and midi sounds what I really want it something I can just sit down at and play
Happy to put it thru an amp so it doesn’t need speakers per se

I picked up a Korg G1 afew years ago. I really like it. Good piano sounds, built in speakers that are not naff, and a really nice hammer-action keyboard. Just turn it on and play.
Again, I really don't know what I'm doing with keyboards, but I really like this piano. And when I want to use it with my DAW, I just grab a MIDI cable.

Have you seen the Novation Diamond and Phoenix? No idea how much they cost or if they sound how you want them to - but they look fantastic

Can’t find any info about those. Are you sure they’re by Novation?

Thanks for those who have dipped into my for sale thread
It’s resulted in an entirely adequate interim stage piano until I decide on something premium

Absolutely love the aesthetics. I am not clued up on styles and aesthetics... is that art-deco-ish?StrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:13 amI like the aestheticcodedog wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 8:26 amThat looks pretty funky!StrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 8:07 am Thanks for those who have dipped into my for sale thread
