Hey dude,

I got my Ampeg converted a few months ago, and I have the transformer I bought from the states that I don't need anymore.

Its 1000W, if you're still looking to go down that road you can have it for $100.

Otherwise, remove the transformer and take it to Basil at Howick Transformers. He's who Clarry uses, and Clarry may charge you 30% on top of what Basil charges Clarry. He may not, I didn't use him so I don't know what he's like in that respect.

However, Clarry is quite well renowned, and a top bloke too!
What are you going to do for a face, when the monkey wants its bum back?

+1 for John Gilmour if you're near Hamilton.

I have a SunnO))) Model T (Fender Re-ish) that was shipped from the States and the transformer and the previous owner (guy from 48May) had it converted by John. From what I was told, it sounds like many transformers in mid/higher end American amps are already capable of switching voltages you just need someone (John/Clarry) who knows what they're doing to suss it for you.

Goodluck dude and I hope you get it sorted.

(PS Sorry to hojack, been meaning to sell the Sunn for awhile so get in touch if interested)
