well I'm no expert at all when it comes to amps but to start with surely the deizel herbert is the gain monster over the vh4 in terms of mean and nasty tones isn't....also the rivera kr7 is about as brutoolz (while still being really clear and defined)
Not sure I could bring the br00tz on an amp called "Herbert".....

That pic doesn't seem to work.
Edit: oh wait. now it does.

Argghhh! Why chage cabs?!
I gotta say I'm surprised at how many average sounding amps there are for the listed high end price points.
Enjoyed the Framus the most but would've liked to see the dreaded guy playing it (SD's sound so much better than Dimarzio's ). However that Blackstar is the coolest sounding rock amp!

I'd say the reality of these kinds of things means it would've been down to what was available, or specifically, what they could borrow at the time. The cynic among us might suggest it's whichever brands advertise with Premier Guitar, but then (from memory) I've never seen a Soldano ad in PG.
Misha posts on the ss.org forum, he said that the amps used were the companies that simply replied to the requests for gear, and what the companies sent, as some people were questioning why certain companies didnt send other high gain amps.
im sorry but imho the players were TOTALLY average (i dont care how good they are in their respective bands....in these demos they were balls)
the riffs they were playing were just meh and the settings they "dialled" in were pretty average too. again all just imo...but i feel like this because my VH4 sounds SO much better in person than it did in the demos plus even some of the "tech" (i.e. what tubes the VH4 ships with supports etc) was wrong or totally out of date. it wasnt just the VH4 demo that irked me either....all the demos were horrible. but hey....im not saying i could do better just that i thought these were crapola

I agree, maybe Misha was tired, he looked really bored, only watched a couple of vids and nothing stood out to me, all sounded a bit crap
How can I be sure I'm here?
The pills that I've been taking confuse me...
